We can donate items to the Assistance League www.portland.assistanceleague.org with a tax write off in the consignor’s name for the full amount that we marketed the item for. This is a great way to get the best value for items that are donated.
RETURN YOUR ITEMS
Items can also be returned to consignors within 2 weeks of their expiration date. Items not retrieved within that timeline will be forfeited to charity.
CONTINUE MARKETING SOME ITEMS
Aside from options 1 or 2, Seams to Fit may continue to market select designer items on our online store at competitive online market prices. We also may put these items back on the floor during our twice a year sales.
HOW TO CONSIGN
At the end of the 3 month contract, consignors have 3 options:
Consignment is accepted by appointment only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1-5. You will need to complete the Appointment Request Form here to schedule a time. Once you arrive for your appointment, call is at 503 224 7884 to let us know you are here. We will either meet you at the door, or bring a rolling rack to your car. All items will sit for at least 24 hours before being looked through. Once we have approved of your items, you will receive an email letting you know what did not work. Any items we do not accept will have the option for a pick up, but we require that you let us know you would like them back within 3 days of being notified. Any unclaimed items will be given to our charity partner, The Assistance League and a tax receipt will be emailed to you.
Any overlooked issues (dry cleaning, repairs) will incur appropriate service charges and will be deducted from your account.
Consigned items are left here for a 3 month cycle, items cannot be returned early per the contract, no exceptions. Seams to Fit reserves the right to extend this time line if needed.
Consignors earn 50% of the selling price. If an item sells for $499 or more, the consignor earns 60% of the selling price.
We do our best to price items competitively in the online resale market. Prices are not determined on the spot. We always research comparable items in the current retail market and price accordingly. Highly coveted designer bags may be priced higher due to demand. If you remember how much you have invested into an item, please let us know and we can take that into consideration.
All consignors’ information is completely confidential.
Once you have an account with us, you are welcome to check on the status at any time. Credit can be used at any time. Checks can be issued upon the request of the consignor no more than once a month. If not prompted by consignor, checks are issued at the end of the 3 month cycle, or earlier if all items on account have sold.
All consigned items are subject to markdowns during the 90 day cycle. All items will be marketed for their full resale price for the first 30 days. Seams to Fit will mark items down between 20-50% off during the final 60 days at our discretion. The only exceptions to this rule are our fine jewelry and our luxury handbags (items priced over $499). These items are reduced by 20% off after 30 days, and are not required to be reduced any further.

Our store offers a wide variety of inventory, specializing in contemporary designer items in excellent condition.
Part of the success of our business is that we are highly selective. Please complete the Appointment Request form here to make an appointment. We require a 10 items minimum and will let you know if the items you have to consign are right for our online market. We specialize in the most contemporary items. Accessories may be an exception to the age limitations.
DO YOU SELL FINE JEWELRY?
Fine jewelry sells best with an appraisal, we recommend Pacific Gem Lab. www.pacificgemlab.net. All fine jewelry will be required to come in with an appraisal to help us determine the value. All jewelry sold for $499 or more earns the consignor 60% of selling price and will only be reduced by 20% during the 90 day period.
WAS THE ITEM CLEANED SINCE THE LAST TIME YOU WORE IT?
We do our best to only take in items that are in new, like new or excellent condition, free of stains, holes, or odors. All items brought in for potential consignment are required to be freshly cleaned and neatly folded in bags or hung under garment bags.
IS THIS SOMETHING THAT YOU WOULD WEAR HERE IN PORTLAND IN THE NEXT 3 MONTHS?
While we accept items for all seasons at any time, we will only market items that are seasonally appropriate. Any off season items will be held in storage until the appropriate time.
WHAT CONDITION ARE YOUR SHOES IN?
Are there any toe prints, shoe pads or scrapes in the leather of your shoes? Any flaws need to be repaired before consignment, and all shoes should be wiped out for sanitary purposes. Our favorite shoe repair in Portland is Derek's shoe repair, www.dereksshoerepair.com. The team there does a beautiful job restoring handbags as well.
SHOULD I LEAVE MY ITEMS ON HANGERS?
This is not required. We accept items either neatly folded in bags or on hangars under garment bags. All items are steamed for proper marketing and for sanitary purposes before hitting the web store.
CAN I MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST?
Due to volume, we are no longer able to take special requests. We recommend signing up to receive our weekly blog reminders which includes fabulous new items we've received during the week including, but not limited to, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, etc.
IS THERE A MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITEMS THAT I CAN CONSIGN?
There is no maximum but we do require a minimum of 10 items to make an appointment for consignment.

This includes lingerie, nightgowns, swimsuits etc..

WE DO NOT ACCEPT BRIDAL WEAR.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT SHORTS.
